A photo is not just a click of a camera or a portrait to have on a wall. A photo is soooo much more! A photograph tells a story, stops a moment in time, and allows that moment to live on forever. A picture is like a time capsule. One you can look back on and remember those special times in your life where that moment you clicked the camera or placed a photo on a wall truly meant something.
The last couple of weeks on facebook have been a look back on “old school photos.” I have enjoyed very much looking through everyone’s photos because they all individually tell a story about someone that I may not have known at that time in their life. Some have been funny to look back and remember the time when flipped bangs and tie die shirts were in. It has also been a walk down memory lane as many of the photos I have seen were of people passed or of those I have lost touch with over the years. What really struck me was the other day when my sister posted some photos of us when we were kids. Talk about having your heart stop…
Here in this picture is my sister Christy (5) and I (7).We were and still are very close growing up only 18mo. apart. When she posted these photos it struck me how quickly life goes by and how much fun we had when we were kids. It brought me back to a place where I remember as a child living in our old home selling lemonade at the mailbox and running around with all the neighbor kids. It was a time in life where there were no responsibilities or worries to be concerned of…what great moments to look back on!

Anyhow, enough down memory lane. The point of this post is to express the importance of making and remembering moments in your life. Photography on any level whether it’s professional or not is important to have in your life. You want to be able to look back and remember the smiles, hugs, laughter, and milestones in your life.
