Photography to me is not just about taking a picture, it’s about finding the connection, the passion, and the emotion within my subjects and bringing that moment to an image so that it may for last a lifetime. To me photography is my life and it’s what I feel I do best outside of being a wife, mother, and friend. I know I still have a lot to learn, but for now, I hope that I can continue share my passion for life, photography, and all things beautiful.

Last weekend I had the privilage of working with some amazing people. I set out to organize a shoot to promote my photography business through a video promo. Everyone looked simply fabulous and while it was a bit rainy, we didn’t let that stop us from having fun and looking our best. Here is a small sneak peak of our day shooting.

Ohhhhh how I am a HUGE sucker for little babies! Their sweet little toes, innocent little noses, and the pure joy a parent feels when they look at their newborn child. I had the privilege of hanging out with Olivia and her wonderful parents last week and while I must say, after I left I had a bit of the baby bug…hahaha! It never fails when you have a sweet little baby in your arms and they’re just peacefully sleeping away. It wasn’t until I got home and was quickly reminded by my two and half year old ALL BOY that I realized maybe soon, but after three! Anyhow, this was a wonderful session with a beautiful baby and fabulous parents. I hope you enjoy!

Oh to capture the love between two people…what could be anymore fabulous then a session filled with connection and emotion. I will have to say that engagement sessions or anytime couples are my favorite for capturing the heartbeat within an image. As a couple whether it’s on their wedding day, their engagement, or just wanting to embrace a special time in their lives, it’s always so much fun to see the connection between two people. This week’s Wardrobe Wednesday gives some great inspiration for choosing your attire for these types of sessions…Oh so fabulous!

This week’s Wardrobe Wednesday comes from the darling Rebecca from Rebecca Keeling Studio. She says “Engagements are some of my favorite sessions…most couples are up for just about anything I can throw out there, so I love to spread my creative wings! but, no matter how exciting our location may be, there is nothing that makes the session more personal than the wardrobe. Nothing says young, vibrant, fun, adventurous, LOVE quite like beautiful color. Nope…I don’t mean matchy-matchy…just coordinate a little, in color and in style. Like these snappy combinations below, they each have some sort of loosely tied theme. Maybe start with your favorite color shirt or your go-to jeans. Don’t be afraid to get outside of the box a little…try something new, and FUN! Heck, bring three outfits and we’ll try them all and ladies, don’t forget to accessorize your guys. This week is going to be so much fun as I am working on a variety of photo sessions. From newborn to wedding and wedding to editorial. It’s been fun to go through all the different images and see how different an expression or moment can be with completely different surroundings and clients. I love it when families return seasonally to photograph their families. Backdrops change, children grow, and memories are continually captured. I have photographed this family before and I love how beautifully they connect as both individuals and together. They have fun, they laugh, they love, and through it all it shows in their pictures. I always emphasize in my photo sessions to have fun and be yourselves. Anything that feels uncomfortable…don’t do! My sessions are about capturing memories and telling a story of that moment in time.
